Earlier this week, Hadleigh Town Council organised Planning Advisory Committee (8th April) and Town Matters Committee (9th April) meetings to be held by email, which was a practical measure in the absence of official Government process/procedures about how to conduct non-physical meetings. Less than 48 hours after posting the agendas, the Government produced legislation that clarified that remote meetings should be held via videoconferencing/streaming technology. Therefore, the Planning Advisory Committee and Town Matters Committee meetings are CANCELLED.
Instead, Councillors will still send their comments on the matters to be considered to the Town Council Manager, and he will make decisions under his emergency delegated powers. Members of the public wishing to make comments on the agenda items may continue to do so as advised in the agenda papers.
